Sorry, SMF was unable to connect to the database. This may be caused by the server being busy. Please try again later.
I uploaded repair_settings.php and knew everything almost to put in apart from the middle section. But now for some reason it stopped working and i get the same error while going to the repair page.
It says my settings php is incorrect but i have no idea how to find the database username and password as someone else signed up for the hosting account.
I tried uploading a fresh repair settings.php but it still doesn't come up
What host are you on, is the busy? it can also be a crappy host depending? try verifing if the information in "settings.php" is correct.
Also i noticed that the host loads fairly fast so i dont think it would be of a server error due to that, normally the server would load slow then start deplaying errors.
It is a settings issue i think, i managed to fix it before but only the main forum index was working nothing else would work. Then my admin tried to fix it but just messed it up even more, that the repair_settings.php file would not work. I downloaded a fresh copy of the repair_settings.php and uploaded it and it still didn't work! He said "oh they deleted our database" but i told him that wasn't the case because when the forum index loaded you could see all the posts and members. Now he has gone off to pastures new and left me to deal with his mess.
This is getting annoying now everything i try nothing works ,i send in tickets to my host for help and they just close and ignore them
