Do they work? I have seen people make offers like Active/Active but I highly doubt how much its going to last because of the lack of inspiration to post in a niche that you are not comfortable with or because of other reasons.
It could work out pretty well because of the exchange of Active/Active if some random guest comes they will see that at least one member online which could turn the chance of a new registration. People don't understand that is always good to have someone online at any given time.
Active/active can be done if that person has that good amount of time to do it. Not like me that active is something that I have no time for and so that's why I rather like doing exchanges when and where I like to do it for that time that I do have that small extra time
I think they can work if the people take an actual liking to your forum and enjoy posting. If it's simply a task or feels like a chore to do so, I don't think they will last, but my hope going into each and every one of them that I've only just started doing is that I'll enjoy the forum I'm joining enough to want to stay once the exchange is over with, while also hoping the other person feels the same way.
