What kind of contact option do you provide on your website? Is it a form that makes use of PHP or a mailto: option?

A form with a captcha will create less spam than a mailto.

We use the contact us option that is built into Xenforo so that people are able to contact us if they have an issue and they are not able to contact us directly on the forum. I feel that is the best way for me or any other staff member to be contacted and get a resolution.

Most Forums software uses a simple "Contact Us" that's always located on the footer and then when members or guests use it ends up going to my emails or company emails. Yet that's not always the best and fastest way, I find that the easy way to get hold of that person is to use private messaging 😉 The only time that the contact us option is used and best for is those that have not joined the site and our guests.

That being said all the emails that I do get from contact us is all god damn spam and crap or ads ;( does anyone else get them also?

I have a contact form off-site that people can use to contact me via email. The contact form is on a site I'm affiliated with.

Did you hard code it, or used any resources? Looking for a simple solution myself.

I just have a webmaster email assigned to my forums so if someone wishes to contact me before joining, they can do so. I haven't had any spam appear in any of my inboxes yet, so I guess I'm just not getting that much traffic. :V

It was coded by the website that I affiliate with. I used to use Response-o-Matic for my contact form, but decided to use the contact form on the site I speak of.
