Have you ever had this happen on your forum?

It hasn't on mine, or at least to my knowledge. 😛 I have the DMCA protection certification thing and Copyscape but I now hear both don't do too much.

Several times but it doesn't bother me none these days. Been in the game too long to get worked up over words being copied and pasted. 😛

We always encourage people to put a source link back to the original content for things like news articles and blog posts they want to share on the forum.

google's generally pretty good a penalising people for stealing content, so I don't bother.

I definitely don't see DMCA protection certification working that well as it used to be. Don't bother having it.

Yes, all though I knew the owner of the forum and he dealt with the staff member that stole my content. 😛 #connections

We've had some articles/guides stolen from other sites before (usually copy-pasted content), but we usually just take action against the stealer. Just a cheap way to claim info that's not theirs. It's pretty easy to tell when something is copied from elsewhere. 😛

There was a forum or two where it was clear they were copying our forum layout, new events that were customized for our forum. At first it became a big deal to me, but now a days it doesn't bother me too much. If people really must steal in order to better their community - good for them I suppose. At least I know it was original for us.

It's almost a good feeling that you must be doing something right. 😛
