Converting Visitors into registered members.

Hello folks.

We have a forum which is 8 weeks old now, and are happy with our progress so far.

However, we have a number of visitors, a reasonably high amount for a new forum, who come and have a look around, at the blogs and forum, then leave again. I recognise some of the IPs as people who have looked before - however we would obviously like some of those visitors to become members.

Any hints or tips for persuading people to sign up would be useful, and feel free to take a look for yourselves.

Some sort of if you register now offer helps. Also a contest will help attract guests to join. Also hide your content from guests so they see a topic title and they want to see what's in the topic but they can't so they sign up 😀

We have a $30 posting competition, which has attracted a little interest but not as must as I would like. Thanks for the feedback.
