Do you know that songs are now collecting copyright charges when you use it? For example, you will make a movie and you use an existing song for the soundtrack. You have to pay the copyright fee for that. And the fee depends on the popularity of the song. When a radio station plays a song, they are charged for the use of the song. My point in this thread is what would happen if in the future those using songs would stop using such to save money. Then the existing songs will not gain popularity anymore. Or maybe those who need songs will just compose their own songs. Would it be good for the music industry?
 
Always have to get permissions, even if you buy the track you can not use it without and paperwork saying yes.

That could be a problem with websites too but getting a copyright is quite expensive and possibly some might want a lawyer - and that's more.
