Country Coded Ads

Lately i've been using a VPN based in the Netherlands more and more, and i've noticed that a lot of ads these days are country targeted. That means i'm seeing Dutch adverts 😀

So, do you know if the ads on your site are country coded, have you ever seen this before, have the ads forced you to learn to read a new language? Discuss 😛

I think a lot of ad services (google ad's) search your site for keywords and advertise stuff that are based around those keywords.

However, there are rumors that google will display ads that are based around what each viewer has searched..
I doubt it is true, but a couple of us have found that the advertisements we see on the same site have been completely different at the same times...It's kind of weird.

I used to be into gaming, so I was always displayed gaming advertisements, but this other guy was always displayed advertisements about dieting pills.

Honestly, I have no idea how the advertising scheme is ran...But yeah.

I don't exactly use Adsense day to day, but I was under the impression it bases the adverts by content on each page, then by the location of the visitor and other information. :shrug:

With adwords, you can target certain countries so your ad will only show to people visiting from those countries. Adverts shown are based on the content of the page. If the content relates to what your ad is about then there is a chance your ad will show on that page depending on your bid of course.

lol yeah since I have an army/rpg they advertise rpg's like MechQuest/AQ/Ebony/other crap. And I hate the ads sometimes because there are sex rpg ads .-.

^^ You should be able to disable any sexual themed ads. Depends on what service the ads are being displayed from.
