Wow, i have to admit that some people who do post exchange SUCK AT THEM!!! I mean i post legit good posts on their forums and what do i get back? a single line or a 3 word post that says like "i agree with them"... I am just telling this idk why cuz who else has this problem and if you are the type of person who does that grow up and take responsibility and actually do some WORK!

Don't deal with those people then.

I know i wont anymore... like i take note but it's only nice and respectable to take your part if you wish to do an exchange.. or is that just my thinking?

Best thing to do is to only do exchanges with people who have a good post record.

If you do exchanges with users here check their posts on this forum and also see if they have done any exchanges and if they have go onto that forum and check the quality.

Yeah I would do what Fowler said, have a little look at their history.

Aww i was going to say that but hten i had to go. What fowler and efc2008 said, you nned to look at their record. If they don't have any, i could suggest not to do it.

I was subject to quite a nasty "Free Topics" package on another promotion forum a few weeks ago. Nothing but 20 "What is your favourite..." topics. I wouldn't have minded but the actual posts were only one post long ~rolleyes~

I've had a few bad ones before, such as them doing 30 posts and 28 of them are on old topics that haven't had posts in months and the message usually has some form of "lol" or "wow!, thats super cool!" or post "hi, welcome!" in every introduction topic in the introductions forum, that one really annoys me -evil-

Lol, thats why I disabled post count in my intro board. I had members going there and just posting for the fun of getting free posts. They still do, but it doesnt bug me anymore -D-

I have had people who deliberately refused to complete a post exchange and then have the nerve to request new ones. I've had one who spammed my intros, forum games, and updates areas, one who pm advertized, advertized their forum, one who posted only smilies in their posts, one who posted images in their posts, and even one who posted one word responses to topics that asked for more than that.

So I disabled the post count in the updates and intros areas, I closed the forum games area, I restricted the number of pms new members can send, I have a character restriction set up so that those who spam cannot do so as easily.

Those who sign up, have no choice but to see the rules, and so when they advertise on the forum, and recieve a warning because of it, they can't say that they didn't know that it wasn't allowed.

I also ask that those who agree to my exchange not to spam, as I would not do it to them. I also make sure that I post as they post until our exchange is complete. I used to do my posts up front as a gesture of good faith, and after I ended up being screwed over a few times, I decided to post as they post.

Most of my exchanges have been successful though, and I have had quite a few of them come back to me for more because they say that I am the only one who puts any real effort into their posts during an exchange, and they've even stuck around on my forum because they like it.. so I can't really complain.

Lol, I once on one of my own boards had someone who had the urge to just post with this smilie " -bigeyes- " He would've done about 20 of those per post.

Yes! I hate it when people type about 3 words like you said. It's like, "What's the freaking point of that?!"
And when I do type a lot to someone, and ask them questions, for example... they either ignore the questions or not answer some of them... Okay, I might sound stupid, or whatever, about the question bit, but really, it's not hard, and it keeps a convosation going.

I'm a forum RP'er, and when someone types 5 words, they should just pack up and leave, because really, what can you type to that? Theres no feeling, nothing.
*shrugs*

The very first exchange I did (on another forum) was a total dud. 15 posts of utter rubbish when I had done my best to make quality posts at their forum.

FP hasn't been too bad, which is good.

Unfortunately there is not really a way to stop people posting like that but the best way to reduce the number like this is to check out the person you are exchanging with first.

Yeah really there is no big thing you can do about it sadly. All you can do is hope they do good ones. Try bugging them to do better ones, that might work. Just make sure to get them Real PO'd -lol- .

Bugging the other person is usually good as they will get fed up of receiving your PM's and emails -lol-

Exactly, they will go so annoyed and be like "Fine! I will if you stop bugging me!!! It's tearing me apart!!!!!!!!!!!!!" -lol-
