I was thinking of creating a website based on graphic vectors and stock images . And it might also have the feature that allows users to upload their content . Basically it would be a sort of vector archive or database . So do you guys think it's a good idea to start it ? I mean I am not too sure if this will work out .

Be prepared to have a big hosting plan with lots of bandwidth if you are letting people upload.

Ya , do you think 8GB space and 80GB bandwidth would be good enough ?

Actually , I am not worried about the hosting . What I want to know is that will the website be a good idea to start off with ? I mean what is the chance that it will fail ? I don't want to start with anything that might ultimately lead to failure .

Be sure to know that there are some browsers (I'm looking at you, IE) that poorly support or don't support vector graphics.

Good luck.

Waiting for more suggestions if this idea is a feasible one .

Thanks for the info fanta !

Sounds interesting! If you're planning on targeting designers, though, you'll need one hell of a design. With an attractive design, effective marketing and SEO, and some commitment, I can definitely see this project working out for you. 🙂

So you're creating a site like Planet Renders?

Well, I would start off as posting some of your vectors/renders first so more members will join. Second, I would recommend customizing your own gallery template. Third, you need LOTS of bandwidth.

@Zane : Thanks for the suggestions buddy. I need someone to start off with who can help me out with these things, since I am not so experienced in these things.

@Coppa : Sort of, it's a forum. I will be making a website. Thanks for the suggestions.
