I know you say you're using MyBB, but honestly, I think you'd be better off using a different forum software. phpBB, IPB, or vBulleting. If you want this site to be very successful I'd recommend phpBB. I'm just telling you from experience, it's seldom that a forum running MyBB or SMF does good. Remember seldom, not never.
