Lost, days have gone by since I have last seen my group. They were the only family I had left. They had over ran us, as we scattered I could hear the cries of my best friend as they tore into her stomach, and feasted on her insides. I could only look back a second to see the blood, and parts of what seemed to be her stomach being splattered onto the floor, picked back up, and aten. The moment I saw that, I hit the guard rail of the road. Falling down into a forest, my leg clamped in between two small oak trees. I, laying there, dangling by my leg, holding in the painful screams that wanted to explaod from my throte and into the air. Knowing what fate would come of that. As my nails dug into the crust dirt I could feel them bend backwards with each claw towards the trees. The slant of the hill I fell down was steep, but I knew it had to free my leg, or take it off to survive. Reaching the top of the tree I hear whistling in the air, as the birds scattered from the trees. As I looked upon the road, I could see my friend crawling towards me. She was still there, but she brought them to me. Jumped, I fell back down, and my leg then pulled from its join. I knew then, I had to slice it off, or die. Grabbing the knife, I tore into the skin, ripping the muscles from the already separated bone. Falling down the hill, I could only lay there, staring at the sky. Just then, I knew how beautiful the world was. The sky was baby blue, the sun peering over the trees causing the light to glisten as it came shining upon me. The birds whom landed in their nest. Feeding their children. Snapping out of the state I was in, I pulled my self up, grabbed a stick, and went to take a step. The pain quickly dragging me back down to the floor. I then, hear another whistle, and the birds flew from tree to tree. I gave up, and excepted my fate. I'd rather die of hunger, and not come back, than to die being eaten, and come back as one of them. Peering back off into the sky, I could see the a mother bird, picking up its children. About to fly off, when they leaped to another branch, one of the chicks dropped its food. Falling down upon me I thought it was a worm, until it hit me. As it collided onto my face, the blood smeared alongside of my cheeks, dripped from my nose, and a drop landed into my eye. Looking down, I could see it laying there. The finger from an infected. I too, am now infected.
