Who here has a custom made skin for their board? I don't and I probably won't get one either.

Mine was based of of "Dark Night" but if you were to compare it to the original "Dark night" theme, you will see few similarities.

Depends how good the quality is, also i would get a custom skin that could fit any type of forum so i could move it about.

FP has a custom skin, in my opinion it was worth it.

Of course I didn't do it completely custom, but I am still working on it.
Sure you could say that it isn't a "custom" theme.

I say its worth it. I plan to get one for Blue Humor when we switch to IPB (Thats awhile off though, 2 years atleast). I think they make you stand out from the crowd, and allow everyone to know you arnt just another forum, youre special. Completly worth it. Just make sure to hire a good graphics designer, like MHW for example -😉-

True, but I still say theyre worth it. Sometimes you get lucky and manage to get one for free through contests though lol. Like for example the one FP is having now -lol-

IMO, Custom made skins are a waste of money.

Custom made skins arent a waste of money , having a custom style shows a uniqueness on your forum/site which is a plus point when promoting and spreading the word of your website.

Yeah plus no one else can use them so it will as jason says, make your forum unique to an extent.

Yeah, I truly think that having a skin that no one else can have is good, Because you always want to stand out from the crowd some times.

With the growing easy to make a free forum and fast, its a need to stand out, not a want. If you get lost in the crowd your outta luck, because youre going to stay that way forever. Stand out, be different, have personality and add it to your site, be original.

Having a custom thing is a very good thing to have. Ghost has named most of the good reasons, it makes your forum unique and no one else can use it.

Sometimes I get tired of seeing the same skin of every forum.
