With one of the royals calling the queen mummy what do you think the cut of age should be for calling your parents mummy or daddy.

6? aahahah 😛 No I know many Brits that still call their parents mummy and daddy. I guess it just depends on where you are from.

I'm 15 and I still call them that but I'm used to it (I'm british).

Yeah, us Aussies stop calling them that at a very early age 😉

It depends, in public I call them mum and dad but at home I call them mummy and daddy for the simple reason that mum and dad just sounds like you aren't putting much effort in imo. Then again, I am british as well.

Yeah if I'm not thinking about it I call them that but in public mum and dad.

I refer to my mum as "mummy" sometimes (or "mommy" actually because I'm from the USA). 😛 I usually call my dad "father." 😛

I think they should stop calling their parents Mommy and Daddy if and when they feel it is right to stop calling them that; I know lot's of people that still call their parents Mommy or Daddy (My mother included).

I stopped calling my parents that at an age, maybe 11-12. I would call them mom and dad; but I didn't really like the word mom. I don't know, I just didn't like it.
Fortunately for me, at 14 I started watching the show "The Golden Girls" and the character Dorothy calls her mother "Ma". I thought it was a much better title, so I started calling my mother Ma. I've found out that lot's of tv shows have their characters call their mothers Ma (The Nanny, Everybody Loves Raymond), as well as people I know in real life.
I just find "Ma", much more suitable XD

That is the best show ever.

"Mommy" forever, and I don't even care what others think. Always called my Mom like that and always will. I can't even imagine saying "mother" to her...

I have never used Mommy or Daddy, always Mom and Dad.

To answer the original question(everyone seems to forget that), I think people can call their parents whatever the hell they want. I don't care, it's not my family.

Ay, I stopped calling my parents that when I was like 4. I do call my mom 'momma' though. I'm southern. 😉

I just call my parents 'Mom' and 'Dad', I don't remember that last time I called them mommy and daddy.

Well, I'd have to go with about 6 as well. I don't think I called my mom or dad "mommy" or "daddy" when I was 7...

I just refer to them as "mommy" and "daddy" and used to it, even though people around here just refer to their parents as "Mom" and "Dad". I don't worry about being too formal about what I call my parents as long as they know I'm talking to them. 😛

Think i used to use mummy until i was around 14 or 15. Not sure why just never stopped noticed a couple of friends did at that age as well.

I'm British and I don't think I would ever call my mum "Mummy" I just call her mum and I also call my dad "Dad".

None of my friends even call there mum "Mummy" or dad "Dad".

So yeah, I say about 7 - 8 years old.
