Cyclone Gabrielle has slammed the North Island causing destruction around the region.

National State of Emergency for the whole of New Zealand. Local TV channels are on the news all day. Looks pretty bad. Luckily that's only the North Island so unlikely it will affect me but I was living in the North Island last year...

Third time New Zealand has ever been in a national state of emergency after the Christchurch Earthquakes and Covid.

They say there will as a lot of others missing and they can't reach a lot of isolated people. Some elderly may die just from being alone and afraid 🙁

Never been one that bad. Or even close to it.
It caused the third national state of emergency in the history of New Zealand. The others being the Christchurch earthquakes which I went through AND Covid.

We won't be going as tickets are $129.90NZD each plus we would need accommodation etc. But Lorde and Neil Finn and others will be there. They want to fund raise thousands.

When New Zealand had the fund raise concert for the mosque shootings it was real awesome and they raised heaps. So this one should go well.

There's only four people who are still 'missing/lack of contact' with. Police don't suspect the worse though.
