Your Quick Review
Pros:
I do like the originality behind the forum, not many forums based on a comic strip that I have seen myself. I just really don't know how far you expect this to go. It's going to take months & months of advertising startegically before you can expect other fans to find the forum just accidentally searching the subject material.
That being said, I'm just not fond of the look or design of the forum, and you'll find most people will agree with me. But, I really do want to help.
Cons:
It seems obvious this must be your first run with a proboards forum, so you've got a lot of work that needs to be done. The banner background green color is very unattractive, also so is the bright hot pink category bar colors. And using gray text against hot pink is just not happening.
Your forum background image, I can understand, but, it might be best to just try and get images into a decent looking banner, that fits the width of the forum up top.

There are many codes I think you should look into, like resizing the forum width, removing the welcome message, changing the navigational icons to text. There is aslo a gradient code, that is for category bars, so the color does npot look solid and pale. I use it on mine, you can check the orange in my category bars, the gradient gives it a glossy look. And there are a few others codes worth looking into.

That it is something original, though, I'm not sure how popular the material the forum is based from. But it's still a nice concept to go for.
What was disliked most about the website/forums:
Alot of things, but I'm not trying to downgrade the forum; I am trying to help, and steer things in the right direction. PB's is a good forum software, it just takes alot of trial and error until you get the forum right.
