I just lost most of my affilates because my host was going very slow or my PC don't know, I selected the code's I wanted to remove and did so and clicked saved, next thing error and 6/10 of the entire fill gone 😡 I suppose I should not be mad I have a backup of today but because of going slow and the server not being able to proccess my request this happened and I had to use a backup. That I made lucky today.

I am mad I can't help it. 😕 Just for a short time of course, I mean I am most of the time an optimist

It's not the end of the world, if you lost some affiliate codes just ask for them again from the site owners.

I think the point Master is making is pretty valid in part, If I were to lose my list of affiliates I would be pretty miffed in all honesty, I don't have a clue exactly how many affiliates I actually have let alone who most sites are? This thread just serves up as a reminder to try to back up as much detail as you can for your forum just in case the worst happens. 😉

It sure is not but I really am not looking for ward in finding all my affilate partners back. What I shall get is PM's asking me why I removed there banner 😉

You could just write a note under your affiliates banner that you had a data loss and are missing some affiliate banners, and if how they can contact you to fix it.

That is why you should only affiliate with only 3-5 sites and have a backup. Did you know that it will hurt your forum if you affiliate with a lot other forums, especially if those forums dose not relate to the topic your forum is about? That is why people should only affiliate with forum that relates to the theme of your forum and are active.

SEO wise, google despises it when two sites link to each other like that. Affiliates don't help at all in that regard and may even make a negative impact. Also the anchor text or a text link is more valuable, SEO wise, than an affiliate button anyway.
