Can DaniWeb battle Admin Web? That's a tech forum IMHO.

I just meant I didn't want to battle up against a forum about some random topic like dogs, for example, because I would never have a chance up against adorable puppies.

Pardon my naïveté, but how does one vote? I just see something that says “Results are only viewable after voting.” without anyway of voting. Am I too newbie to vote?

I don’t see that. Is there anywhere to find the minimum requirements to vote or view poll results?

@DaniWeb

In order to be eligible to vote in Forum Promotion Site Battles, you must have a minimum post count and be actively posting throughout the community. In order to prevent abuse and maintain fairness, FP will not be disclosing the specific post count and activity requirement.

If that’s the case, I would recommend a less confusing UI for those of us who cannot vote. Perhaps a message explaining the above? Or at least something that says “sorry, you don’t have permission to vote”.

Feel free to say no, but what I would really like to see are the results of the poll. Right now it’s just a message saying vote to see results, with no way to vote, and no way to see the results.

Even if we can’t play, we still might want to watch the game from the bench. I have a vested interest in seeing how this battle is going, and how it turns out, and yet I have no way of following it.

Oooh I can vote now!! However, that does not solve the issue of the poor/confusing user experience for other newbies.

Something else I found interesting was that, yesterday, while I did not have the ability to either vote nor to see the poll results, I *did* have the ability to edit the thread and enable the checkbox to see poll results without voting (it was unchecked and I left it that way, I'm just noting that there was an unchecked checkbox there pertaining to voting when I couldn't even vote myself).

I no longer see that checkbox, so I don't know if a change was made, or if there was a weird permission error that showed that field to newbies who can't vote but not to people who can vote.

Sorry if this is being posted in the wrong place. Feel free to split this post away and move it into the technical issues sub-forum.

I will also ask @Ozzy47 To post a Notice at the top of the page, asking new members to review this before entering into a battle.

I think the other issue is fixed.

A message about voting eligibility isn’t my concern.

The problem is there is a message saying vote to see results, with no way to vote, and no way to see the results.

It should either show the results, or at least remove the message that says to vote to see them.

Once you pass the requirements which you have then you see the results once you vote, the votes stay hidden until then.
