Familiar Face
Well, we all know that Nintendo usually produces games filled with positivity and happy endings, but occasionally Nintendo has made some dark, even cynical games before. In your opinion, what are the darkest ones? And I don't mean in terms of "grit"(like in Twilight Princess), but rather games with mature, psychological themes or dark overtones.
Majora's Mask still remains one of few dark games Nintendo has ever made in my book. It's atmospheric, especially with a feeling of dread that is omnipresent in the game with only 3 days to save the world, not to mention the moon's nightmarish stare, plus the presence of death and suffering makes the game depressing, like Silent Hill 2 on the PlayStation 2 which was equally depressing.
