If you have any idea about what Autism is, and how it effects one's life, you wouldn't have set up a site like this. I personally know MANY Autistics, and while you are correct that it isn't fatal, it controls one's live, as well as the lives of all that interact with this individual.

AIDS isn't deadly either (directly), how about I create a site called "Don't cure AIDS?"

What makes you an authority in this field? Sorry, but a teenager (assuming you are one) telling me that something should not be cured isn't a compelling reason to stop people donating. People can do what they like with their money, really, and I'm sure a lot of people donate to other things.

I do have a idea what Autism is, thank you. I set this up because nothing is wrong with an autistic person! It is not something that should be cured, it is really wrong and offends me that they are working on this.

Thus this site being up.

Those statements just contradicted each other. If you would like, I can have an autistic relative of mine write a lengthy reply on WHY autism should be researched.

Sure, there isn't a "cure" so to say (ex. take 2 Motrin, put some Vicks on, and call a doctor in the morning after that your autism is nonexistent), but there can be ways to treat it, and prevent it in early stages of life. Hence why a treatment should be researched.

I take major offense to this, As I work with Autism kids during the summer. And let me tell you this. Some of these kids will need help and pushing forward throughout their life. Will need constant help. And some Autism kids cannot even understand and or know what's reality or not. So yeah

Also note that no1 is directly paying for this besides school's as most of these kids are in private special needs school. so only a town is paying for this mainly. Just as your parents would for your school.

Yes, that is the national autism society, and we do not have a donation, and never will, the box will soon be a helpful link list soon.

This site is an absolute joke IMO.

So what if it isn't fatal? It affects people's lives quite badly if it's severe. It definitely compromises people's lives and you start a website called Don't Cure Autism? If autism was to be ''cured'' it would benefit a lot of people and give some people more opportunities in life. Why would you want to stop more people having equal opportunities? Why are you achieving out of this site except offending a lot of people?

I'll admit I've been diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome in the past, to be honest I'm nowhere near as bad as I used to be but my social skills are still not great.

Really this site is plain ignorant and a disgrace.

Ok, really, I am done with people bashing my site and venting in this topic. The site will stay up no matter what anyone says or does. I know how an autistic works, only by being one.
