That's a shame.
And thank you 🙂

Oh, before I gave I gave the forum to Cosmic, I saw that stupid NetBoards have set the default no activation setting, and default no CAPTCHA or whatever it's called.
So I changed the defaults on, so no more bots could join.
I didn't even know that it was like that.

I've always felt it best to have at least email activation on if nothing else, as bots don't know how to click on links. So email activation basically stops bots in their tracks. That's what I have on my forum.

Use dem bots to down some sites.

I believe there are already more than enough hacking attempts out there, thanks. I don't think we need bots adding to peoples' problems.

I just had a look and the theme is nice but there are no posts...and only one board. Unfortunately much of a forum's value is in the huge mass of content it can build up, so without that you're probably best off trying to sell it. Who knows if those members are even real.

I didn't realist what you said just then- an even if we were Spammers, why would we use bots to make trouble?
And anyway, how?

Almost everyone is a bot.
Think i've got 10 members, most haven't posted though.

Its never too late to start promoting. Get a staff team together and consistently drive traffic.

I want the spambot IPs, to be honest. I think I could put them to practical use.

Why do you want the spambot IPs, Cosmic?
I am considering integrating a spambot IP blacklist with some of my software. This could be the start of the list.
You can download lists of spammers IPs from stopforumspam.com and integrate that into your software - http://www.stopforumspam.com/downloads/
