How do you deal with people that post loads of pointless one word posts in order to just increase their post count? Do you mind or not whether people post 1 word posts just to raise their post counts?

If im the administrator i kindly ask them via PM and warn that any further 1worded posts etc will be considered and maybe warned.

Well the answer to this one is simple really, delete their posts. I don't see how the admin or moderators should have to spend their time PMing the members to stop when they should have read the board's guidelines anyway, which normally make mention of spamming.

I've seen quite a lot of forums that simply remove any trace of Post Count from the boards, to filter out the users who are there to contribute and those who are there to build their stats and work their way to the top of the forum's food chain.

I make sure I let them know 'spamming' tp raise post count is not tolerated and that warnings will be dished out.

If it happened a few times : IGNORE IT

If it happened a lot I'd tell the member in a PM or delete the posts

Not happened yet on TEF.

I just delete the posts and then if that user doesn't get the hint i then just PM them.

Depends if they are answering a topic with one word answers, or just posting random stuff to topics. I don't mind if it's the first one.

We have a special system with our warning, and we give them out generously.

A average warning is something like this:

Code:
You have received an infraction at Sour Grunt Productions.
Original Post: (Link Here)
"QUOTE HERE"
Reason:
-------
This infraction is worth _ point(s) and may result in restricted access until it expires. Serious infractions will never expire.

We have certain points awarded to each warning and if you reach x amount, you get banned for a pre-determined amount of time.
