Squatters are people who move into your home without your permission and refuse to leave. They usually move into empty places and laws now are more protective of their rights instead of the homeowners.

How would you deal with a squatter if you were away, like on vacation, and came home to find someone living in your home?

This is something I always worry about and definitely would worry about when it comes to me going on vacation. I guess this is why my family always has someone go into their home to check things and do things such as turn lights on and off, open and close curtains and take the mail in. That way it looks like someone is living there when they are away on vacation.

This not only deters burglars but also deters those who wish to squat as well.

You can buy a timer for your lamps! We have one for the front window that is controlled by an app on my husband's phone. He has it set for daily random on/off and it makes it seem like someone is there. We have it set that way always, whether we're away or not.

I believe my grandma has one of these for the times she is out a little later on during the day when it would get dark earlier or dark before she is due to head home so that it looks at though there is someone in the house and doesn't stay in darkness. They are pretty awesome to have and ideal for when you are out when it gets dark.

Nope, I heard and hear about them from TV and in my local area but glad that I never had to deal with that crap in my life lol
