Death Penalty - Yes or No?

What are your arguments regarding the implementation of the death penalty in some countries or states in the US? Should it be abolished completely? If not, which crimes are worthy of receiving this sentence?
 
Punish them by making them live out their lives in a cage, knowing what they did. I’d reserve the death penalty for high treason and war crimes. Things that effect thousands of people. Those people go to white collar resort prison today.
 
I go for the death penalty but only for heinous crimes like rape of children. However, the judicial system should be bereft of loopholes that criminals who are proven guilty beyond reasonable doubts are really guilty. One example is the case of Hubert Webb, a son of a Philippine senator who was accused of rape with murder. Some of his proof or alibi were not considered by the court hence he was in jail for 14 years until such time that his appeal was heard and the guilty verdict was reversed. He is fortunate that we have no capital punishment otherwise he may have been executed... and then proven not guilty huh.
 
I would death penalty why because sometimes the get it wrong how would you feel if someone is put to death and you letter find out the person is innocent you cant give them the life back but if the in jail you can free them
 
Two wrongs don't make a right. However, the Bible seems to say otherwise - in some cases.
 
To impose discipline on the people, death penalty should be implemented. It should be a warning that we are responsible for whatever we do in life. It is not an issue for those citizen who is law abiding.

For instance, like on the movie Patriot Games, the IRA terrorist had both his brother and dad killed. So if he killed in revenge, it's difficult to not feel empathy. Would that be an argument against the death penalty?

Death penalty for those that needs it, Others I say in cage for an good amount of time. I mean you can not death penalty someone for stealing, gta.

I think the grin of no remorse is terrible when they're in some place with no death penalty.
 
Yes to death penalty for me as it provides the justice and closure families and victims deserve. The death penalty prevents additional crime. And it's the only moral and just punishment for the worst crimes.
 
There are some crimes committed against another human that it would only take the death penalty for the victim to feel justice and closure. Which other punishment would be enough to soothe a person whose parent was murdered? Or a rape victim? Only the death penalty can soothe.
 
I don’t trust the government to make capable decisions. Due to this, I don’t support the death penalty. The state shouldn’t decide who gets to live and die. I understand the arguments against people who have done horrible and even evil things, but I don’t trust any justice system to effectively stay neutral. There are multiple shady or even wrong cases where people lost their lives for a crime they didn’t commit. This is an atrocity almost as bad as the crimes they allegedly committed.
 
If I were a person who killed unjustly, I would want the death penalty for myself out of guilt.
 
Do you all feel child molesters etc. should get the death penalty? Some US states now do this and China does it (No shock there lol).
