I'm currently participating in a decluttering challenge on Twitter #minsgame. Every day you go around finding things to donate, recycle, or trash. Day: 1 item, Day 2: 2 items, Day 3: 3 items, etc. Today is Day 7 for me.

I know for many this pandemic has encouraged them to reevaluate their homes and decluttering has become the 'trend'. It's something that I've always liked to do myself from time to time. I love the idea of only having stuff that I enjoy and love.

My problem area would definitely have to be paperwork. I don't know why I let it pile up, most I know I can just recycle or shred.

Do you declutter? How often? What would you say is your problem area?

That's cool. You make money from that 😛

It would be nice to declutter but where I live they are overwhelmed by donations because during the pandemic everyone's doing it! So it's hard to find places that will accept donations. I also find that when I get rid of something that a month or two later I regret it! LOL

I grew up being a minimalist. I mean I have ‘stuff’, but I pick & choose what we have. Everything has its place.

For the paperwork, I know someone who had that same issue. I told them to take the time to contact the places they get mail from to be removed from their mailing list. If they have a postage paid, send it back. If they send you something, put RETURN on it without opening it. Bills can be paperless. Magazines one can get from the library.

I clean the house thoroughly once a year, throughout the year. I strive for ‘one drawer or one shelf’ a day. You’ll notice it gets done when you just start. I think starting is the hardest part for people.
