So I was just browsing the phpBB support forum, and found a topic involving a user why phpBB doesn't support quick reply as standard.
I did a bit of topic through other related topics, and found that the developers don't want to add it as standard because they feel it would turn phpBB into a "chat system" as opposed to a "forum system"...regardless of the thousands of people who want to see it made default.
What are your thoughts on this? Surely the developers can't think that clicking a button to reply is any less "chat-system like" than being able to reply from the topic. Yes, it does lower functionality in that formatting text takes a few seconds longer and some versions of quick reply don't support smilies etc.. but in my opinion that's no reason to not make it default.
phpBB 3.0.x is closed for feature additions, but 3.2 is still open.
Do you think phpBB should have quick reply as standard?
