Ok so my warranty on my Inspiron 1545 went out a week ago, and I turn on my computer today and a screen pops up saying my battery has suffered fatal circumstance. Something like that.. so sure enough when I unplug my laptop, it dies 😛 So now I am running it off the charger without the battery waiting for Amazon to ship me one for like 30 dollars (Dell said they'd give it to me for 135.40 USD D🙂

So yeah.. I hate dell.

That sucks. I always thought that companies made the warranty so that it goes out when the computer is about to go bad.

Well actually I can't give them a bad rap now, they said after they talked to me and my gf that they would send me a new battery free of charge. So I'm happy xD We weren't mad, we just said I haven't even had it for a year and the battery goes.. so they said in this case they would make an exception. 🙂

Never been a fan of Dell, once the warranty runs out the pc/laptop seems to start having issues.

Ya know. My dad's an IT and he said thats how Dell computers are made. He said whenever you buy a Dell buy a 2 year warranty because he already knows something will happen after 1 year. Dell built there computers only to last a year. Just a heads up for other people to buy a 2 year warranty.

I believe it 😀

Ok well I'm happy 😀 It was sent overnight with no charge. Me and dell have a love hate relationship 😛

Almost every company makes their machines like that. For example, most of them just slap in the dirt cheapest PSUs they can find so that people who don't have much technical knowledge have to send them back for costly repairs after they blow. This also means that anybody who makes an upgrade (e.g. video card) without upgrading the PSU is pretty much screwed.

I'd swear they just setup the computer to self destruct upon warranty expiration.

My Dell desktop is 3 1/2 years old and still running Vista. Guess I got lucky.
Sometimes, you get lucky and get a reliable one. They literally set your computer up to fail, though, by putting in the cheapest parts possible (particularly PSU).

I heard Dell computer are pretty low quality especially their lowend computers.

I replace a power supply for my HP computer with a 400W coolermaster power supply. I was surprised HP only put a 200W power supply on a Dual core Intel 1.8GHz and 2 sticks of 512MB RAM, 1 HD, a DVD-Writer. It is not a fast and power hungry computer, but I would of at least expected a 300W or 350W PSU.

dell suck I had a dell pc a few years back and although I had my dieing pc in warranty they asked me the same questions over and over, and even when they get on the phone and confirm it with me they ask me the same questions ONCE again a dozen times and theres so much more after I decided to buy a new hard drive miself and from there thanks to crappy dell customer support I build my own PC's, although I hate dell even more for buying alienware 🙁
