How do you deny someone's application when you find the perfect team member to hire? 😱
For me I usually send them a PM with why I denied them, unless of course I got a large amount of applications then I'd just send out a template I made and have them ask why they were denied and I'll give them all the reasons of why. 😛
How do you guys go about denying someone's application?
Unless there was two people going head to head. I would give one the staff spot and the other VIP and to let them know they're accepted but they'll be added the next time a spot comes up.
Exactly the same as Matt. When there's a whole lotta applications, you don't have the time to sit down and explain to each applicant why they weren't chosen. Upon request though I will disclose general reasons why someone was denied, but not out of my own precious free time.
If there are a lot of applicants, we tend not to deny them/send a message because that could possibly be very time consuming. If you don't end up getting promoted, and others are chosen instead, then you didn't quite make the cut.
If I am hiring I usually only contact the person who I hire rather than messaging everyone who applied and letting them know. This is how it goes with everything including when you go for jobs in the outside world and it seems like more of the professional approach. If they come to me asking then I will explain.
I usually only contact the one person I want to promote myself, especially if there are tons of members who quite didn't make the cut. It'd be quite time consuming to respond to all of them, especially if you have at least 3 or 4 other members trying out.
