I've had type 2 for about 5 to 10 years.
I was recently told that I have 'prediabetes' and I've been prescribed a high dose statin. Why is a bit of mystery because I'm an extremely active, non-smoking vegan so there's not many changes I can make to my lifestyle.
My mother in law is a type 2 diabetic. She didn't listen to her doctors about cutting back on sweets, so she has to take insulin. My father in law is pre diabetic, but has been trying his best to curb it so he doesn't take insulin. I knew someone from high school who had type 1 diabetes.
I saw your answer to my question in your interview thread and yeah I've got eye issues too. Mostly due to my stupidity of not having my diabetes meds for so many years.
Originally they wanted to put injections into my eye once a month for 1-2 years but my needle phobia would get too much in the way.
They're hoping to use a laser in January if I don't get too anxious. They gave me a couple pills to take beforehand which may make me more comfortable and less anxious.
My right eye can't be fixed but they're not too worried as it's my lazy eye so it's never been too great but they don't want my left eye to get too out of control.
They have said I've got fluid in my eye and if anything goes wrong with that I'll have permanent blurry vision.
I've been type 2 since roughly 2012. Currently taking Synjardy and most recently my A1C is at 6.9 and trying to do better about what I eat and drink.
