Did you get your tax refund yet? Or do you have to pay this year?

Got mine a few weeks ago. I put half into savings, and I'll be spending the other half. So far, the only thing that I've bought with the money is a picture that I'll be hanging on a wall in my bedroom once I get the frame for it (which I'll also be using the tax money for). Not sure what I'll use the rest for yet.

Ideally, this is better for you.

If you overpaid, that means you've given an interest free loan to the US government when you could be (hypothetically) investing the money. A dollar in your hand is always better than a dollar in the hands of the US government.

I got about $4800 from taxes this/last year. I never did my taxes for the previous 6 years lol.

We did. We got some in and we had to pay some back to the state. We're gonna spend it on things we need and then save what we can.

In New Zealand our tax year runs from April to the end of March so I have to wait to see. Usually tax refunds aren't paid out until June-July though.

My government in my country hardly pay tax returns balances to it's people.

I am still waiting for my tax refund. I was told in the office where I work that it will be released in March this year.
