I used to keep a diary when I was a kid. I always remember one year for Christmas I got a diary with a lock and a key and I used to use that all the time, it was popular at the time and everyone wanted one for Christmas and I was overjoyed to get one when I did.

It's a shame as I feel that phased out and most don't tend to do that anymore.

nope, I never did, I think it's more of a female thing than it is for a male. well, that's what I think since I tend to see most females do it.

I did, up until my privacy was violated and it was used to incriminate me by my parents. I will never again use one. I keep my personal thoughts in my head.

Back when myspace was super popular (20+ years ago) I would keep a blog on there and write in it all the time. I didn't care if anyone seen it or not. However the girl I dated at the time was upset because I barely mentioned her when I'd write in it which made her think I was cheating on her.

Yes, I had a diary with a lock on it.
I loved my diary but I lost it years ago. I don't remember where I lost it or how I lost it.

Yep. I had a journal that a teacher and I used to write in. She helped me a lot in those 4 years.

I didn't. I wish I would have. It would be nice to have something to look back to for memories. I really don't remember 10+ years ago at all at this point. 😛

Yes, from around 1990-1998. All hand written. I still have it! hehe

I couldn't bring myself to use a diary. May be I am just too used to keeping things by myself and I couldn't bring myself to write them down.

I did use to have one in paper. I ended up bringing it from Mexico. No way I was leaving it unguarded with my family. 🤣
It is so cringe yet interesting how even back then I had a fragmented sense of self.

I did as a teen for a little bit. My little brother kept finding it and reading it. So I quit doing it so he wouldn't be able to get into it anymore.

Nope. However, as an adult, i keep a log of my headaches for my doctors to monitor.
