Did you and your family put up your Christmas tree yet? I've been seeing a lot of photos on Facebook of people wanting to get into the holiday spirit to get their minds off the pandemic so there are tree pics galore. We haven't put ours up yet and it's usually done the first weekend in December. We will wait until our daughter comes back to visit but she works every weekend so I'm not sure how that will turn out unless she stays at our house one weekend and we do it in the evening.
Ours has been up for a couple weeks. Not decorated yet though. We have a tradition that it has to be up by the day after Thanksgiving or it’s bad luck.
I must say, this is the one year that I can understand people who want to celebrate it early! I think we all need it!
That being said, I haven't got a tree up or anything yet!
My hubby put the tree up on Friday. I didn't decorate it till yesterday when I got off work though. I asked my hubby to get all the Christmas decorations out so that we could decorate some time this weekend. My hubby won't let me put the tree up till the day after Thanksgiving.
Sarah put up our Christmas tree super early. It's been up for a few weeks now. We just have lights on it though. We haven't bothered with ornaments yet. The only ornaments we have are at my parents' house still.
We haven't put up the tree yet, my brother's family is returning and my sister in law is so excited to get the tree up with lights and all the decorations.
Yea. When I was at university, my family put up the Christmas tree, decorations and lights which I came back to discover yesterday when I returned home.
With this being in "intellectual talk", I figured I'd put my two cents in.
My mother has a fascination with tradition. Because of that, she becomes very irritable & grouchy when holidays hit a snag or if a few decorations are broken.
Rather than focusing on family, she'd blame us for ruining what she wanted.
That was a very long winder way of saying that a small tree is cool but I personally despise the holiday tradition because of traditional commercialization
My daughter and I put up the tree earlier in the week and we really kept it more simple than in the past. I wanted to make it easier to take down later so we didn't even put on a third of the ornaments and no garland.
We are doing 2020 right, no tree this year! lol. Actually, the wife bought tons of houseplants and I didn't wanna try and move them all sooooo we just decorated the fireplace mantel and hung stockings, santa is going to place toys under the plants...
