Did your forum ever get a penalty from Google?

And, if so, what reason was given for the penalty (such as 'suspicious links', etc) and how did you clean up your site or SEO to get reconsidered for Google Search?

Yes, one of my client's Fashion based niche site got penalized by Google due to Duplicate content and paid links on different niche based site which sounds fishy to Google. First I added his site at Webmaster tool than deleted all contents and posted Unique articles with rich keywords following Adword tool than move forward with blogging with subdomain and posted more unique articles. I also contacted the site owners where he placed paid links and told them to remove it from their site. After 3 Months of continuous hardwork we got the best result, our site got listed in Google again with PR#3 valid rank.

So, we must link with similar niche based site and add Unique articles to be Indexed in Google.
