Why Digigtal P keeps banning users?

They banned me because they said I pm someone when that someone spammed me.

If that the case, how the f*&^% do they know I PM ?

Isn't PM suppose to be private?

Theres these things called "logs" which can help these people called "police" during these things called "investigations".

Nothing on the interwebz is "private" anymore. For example, your IP address can be tracked extremly close to your house, and I dont have to be a cop to trace it either.

As for the flaming about DP, ive never even heard of them, link please?

They don't exactly read Emails, the Moderators ask you to Forward PMs that contain abuse or break the rules. Having said that, I do agree with you in that their moderation policy is far too over the top.

For example, I have just completed a 7-day ban for asking another to PM me...Nothing more, nothing less..it was a simple case of "Please PM me with your PayPal address", next thing I know i'm banned for 7 days.

It wasn't enough to stop me going back there though. I do a good amount of work for members at digitalpoint and whilst I can't be bothered to update my website it's a good place to pick up the odd job.

This is a very serious crime ..indeed.

What happens if someone is doing some sort of bidding or trying to sell something via PM and they are watching the bids.

You guys saw the 60 mins of online gambling? Someone went thru the backdoor of the ultimatepoker.com and he was able to see all the hands...I mean all the cards.
And that someone was the programmer of the program.

I was the victim of the spammer and they banned me?

As i've said, they don't go into your account and read PMs. They read the ones that get forwarded to them, and it's their job to as Moderators. Seeing as the Admins rarely find time to make their way onto the forum the Moderators are effectively in charge, so they kind of have to ~razz~

I like DP again now though, made $50 from a transaction there last night ~cheesey_grin~

Yeah, digital point is a massive forum. A few million posts I believe. Actually, it might be 10,000,000.

I don't like Digital Point very much. The fact that they allow promoting of warez and adult forums keeps me away from them.

Although, if there was a cheap offer for a owned vBulletin license on there (with permission from Jelsoft to sell the license), I might join up.
