I've used both in past and personally prefer cPanel for it's easy-to-use interface. However, I do think DA is must more faster and secure. They both provide pretty much features/options, cp with the fancy buttons, DA without.

So what are you thoughts on either of those 2 control panels? Which do you prefer?

Never used one before?

I prefer cPanel as i am more used to it but DA is good. DA probably is more secure as it is not as popular as cPanel and therefore not as targeted. It is a bit like Windows v Mac.

cPanel is a lot easier to use and work with than DA. DA is not built anymore secure than cPanel is, it's just like Fowler said, it's less popular so less targeted.

The difference is that Mac computers are the inflated one, and in this case CPanel is the inflated option if you ask me. It uses a bigger chunk of resource to operate, and it has AJAX menu options, ect. Direct Admin keeps things simple, yet performs extremely well even under load conditions.

Personally I prefer Direct Admin to CPanel, just my taste :great:

cPanel is better, faster, and safer. DA is good too but not as much as cPanel.

faster? Cpanel is an extreme resource hog and is slower than other panels.

While I don't have much experience with DA, from what I've seen it's a good panel, but I'm just not used to it as much as cpanel. I'm more used to kloxo, which is almost as good as cpanel to me, and free.

cPanel is fast for me 😕
Well Cpanel is fast for powerful servers without a doubt that host a select few amount of people, but it can really be a resource hog and runs slow on lower end servers. It also can't handle that many people on the server which is why big free hosts don't use cpanel, simply because it's too resource intensive.

From a host's standpoint, I find DirectAdmin's Reseller/Admin CP interface more user-friendly than cPanel's WHM. I find it a bit better overall, and it's a lighter package too, so you can have more space for your users. It's also more cost-effective and a bit more secure. However, from just a hostee's standpoint, I am actually more than fine with either one.

I've only used both ACPs a few times, but there isn't really a big difference for me. I like 'em both. Both get the job done.

I rather cPanel, as I had a lot of experience with cPanel, and not Direct Admin. Direct Admin looks cool, but nothing will beat cPanel 😉

I just looked around the DA, and I prefer Cpanel the best, to be honest. I think I prefer Cpanel because it's what a lot of hosts offer, and it's something that I've just become used to. The layout is pretty confusing on DA.
