I was just chatting with my friend @PGen98 in a thread about my husband and daughter who are directionally challenged. My daughter was going back to college from our house, about a decade ago, and either ignored her GPS or didn't use it, and ended up in a different state LOL
Before sat navs I used to look at a map and if I got lost I'd just keep heading in the right direction. In fact the area in which I live is notorious for having road closures that are often not picked up by sat navs so you have no choice to take to the back roads and head in the right direction.
My partner on the other hand will get lost if you tell her to 'turn left and walk to the end of the road'. I have to walk the route with her on Google Street View multiple times before she gets it
