I found some really interesting stats about Discord:
  • There are million users with the majority being in the US.
  • The average user only spends about 9 minutes a day on Discord
  • Discord trails behind TikTok, Instagram and Snapchat as the most popular platform among teens
  • The Fortnite servers is the largest Discord server
  • About 90% of Discord servers have only 15 users

A lot of that makes sense, Discord does feel like it's better for smaller groups and quick chats.

I'm one of those members 😛

Damn, I must be one of those that are not average then as I spend all day on discord ;P

Going so fast even more so than Skype as people are going away from Skype as Discord offers video calls

The Fortnite servers is the largest Discord server

I wish I had 16 ;P

I hardly get on Discord myself. I kind of want to try out the forum feature on Discord, just for the fun of it. I do pop into the Sonic Hacking Contest discord since I'm a judge for the Sonic hacking contest and need to log in. Plus I enjoy seeing what people are talking about, though the server is usually dead this time of year but picks up again when the hacking contest is going on. (Which is usually during the fall.) Since I do wish to start a game night sort of event for my communities, I think I'll have to make a server for my sites.

I've honestly never been on Discord so don't know enough about it. But I have heard many people who like it & the way it looks & feels like a forum.

I was a moderator in the Fortnite Discord server for a while, and man it was something. It's one of the biggest Discord servers I moderated. It sucks that they decided to go with a company to do paid moderation.... It's so dumb.

Edit: We were all volunteer moderators, and the company who made Fortnite decided to go with MSQ to do paid moderation over having volunteer moderation.

15 users sound about right. Especially when the channel I'm on has a level system to see who does the most posting over a month. It's a fun system of organized chatting and streaming, although my channel has rarely been streaming and it's usually me that uses it.
