To North Americans....
Have you ever used dish network? They offer 100 channels for like $20 a month? I wonder if it really as good as it seems.

I used to watch this stuff at my gramps. Its a good service, but on really stormy days it goes out. Other than that it might be worth using.

here we used to have them... it kept cutting out everytime it rained or snowed... We then switched to Time Warner... Best move ever 🙂 although we are paying a bit more.

Its a good deal, until a storm comes. I was on a fishing trip with my Grandad, we were in our cabin and it was storming. The cabin place had Dish Network. The next morning, we lost all signal.

Dish network is no different than traditional cable, but it is unreliable when it is storming outside.

I think dish network is actually really good. My friend has it and he likes it.

I'm with Twisty on the cabin. Our family has a cabin out in the woods, meaning cable is out of the question (isn't provided out there), and Dish is the same quality as cable with a few exceptions.

I live in California, not much stormy days here.

Well then I think dish network would be great for you. Also you should try Directv. Thats what i have and it works great, even during storms!

Both provide a digital, high-quality signal. I prefer Dish because it is less expensive. Either option is good, regardless of price.

Well we had to cut down on our bill to so we went from Charter to Directv and it cut off like $200 on our bill.

I used to have Direct TV. Signal would go out on that sometimes when it was really stormy (the few storms we get). I think thats just the price you pay when you get satelite. It doesnt matter if you have dish or directv.
I have cable right now (which is going to get cutt off soon along with my internet and house phone.. its all bundled in one bill).
Anyways money is tight right now and I can only have the internet or tv and Ive decided to go with tv since I have a five year old who loves cartoon network and nickelodian.. If I took that away, there would be hell to pay. Lol. Plus Ive grown tired of the internet anyways. After 2 years its just lost its thrill I guess.

Anyways I was signing up for dish network the other day and I went all the way through the process and then at the last screen where it says authorize payment, I closed the window. Figured I would look around at other things before I jump into anything. The next day they (dish network) called me like 3 times trying to get that transaction completed.

HAHA. I am pretty sure your kid wouldn't like you anymore. If you took away his tv.

Not bad. DirectTV and Dish Network both provide quality service, and Dish may be a bit cheaper, but it depends on how many channels you receive, and/or the premium channel(s) (HBO).
