Ok so for the purposes of this we will have member X and member Y.

So member X is selling a product, and member Y buys said product. Member Y then discovers that the product is stolen. Member x is claiming that its not and that they do in fact own said product. Member y still says its stolen and provides you with a website it's allegedly stolen from. Member Y demands a refund and Member x will not give a refund.

What would you do?

If it's with eBay, make a complain in the resolution center thingy. 😀 Or just hire a lawyer.

Another idea is to just pay it off. 😀

Tell them to take their BS off the forum? It has nothing to do with your board unless there is a marketplace specifically on the board, if member x is proven to have broken the rules I'd ban him. Member Y should just do a paypal dispute, not whine to admins about saying they cannot do.

We do have a specific Marketplace, but yeah i think we'll advise them to do a paypal dispute.

That's exactly what you should do. Tell them you provide a marketplace but that you are not responsible for transactions and that you cannot resolve disputes. It's between themselves.

The only problem with Online marketplaces is that Paypal dono refund the purchases on digital goods, nomatter what kind of evidence you have.

I personally would threaten, if not ban the thief, console the loss of the other member and advise him to atleast try t get his cash back via Paypal.

In this instance how would you know who is telling the truth?
