I went through 2 years of recurring nightmares due to a paranormal show, despite being 12 at the time it happened and the show being what some would consider "Just special effects and crap".

The show was called "A Haunting", I remember correctly..

Sitting on my bed with a cast on one of my legs(I'm flat-footed) and we had Dish Network at the time and it was in 2007.

I was surfing through the guide as usual, and find a show called "A Haunting" and out of stupid curosity, I watched it.
One night I was fine.. next, I wasn't.. nightmare started to break the once God-protected serenity that I had and it affected me back..

I would stay up until 3:00 AM in the morning every night...waiting to see what would happen..(course nothing happened..)

Those nightmares were f**ked-up, man..

Sometimes I would see things with featureless, pupiless eyes..

One time, it was something with hoofs..

I suffered it for 2 years..

In New Mexico was where the nightmares gained power...

I know at one time I watched The Shining when I was about 13

The movie seemed fine to me until...that..one..scene..
Where Jack Nicholson goes into the bathroom and sees a beautiful vixen and then after some kissing she turns into a old, rotting cadaver, that's when the nightmares gained power, but overall despite that one scene, I found the movie pretty cool..

and then coming back here...they were worse, My nightmares could rival some things..

My nightmares were torture.. it was always "Can't sleep until the clock strikes 3:00 AM(it changed to 1:00 AM at some point)

Necropolises,Dystopia,graveyards,demons,rape,you name it..

Notably I have been banned from 5 forums..but something could have been the cause..

When I posted something wrong and some of the members would throw their cruel words at me, I went insane..
Trying to get rid of the horrors by releasing anger..

I also have large obsession with the final boss of the SNES game, EarthBound.. Giygas
Giygas has been told to be inspired by a traumatic event suffered by the creator of the game..

Now one thing seemed to be, I could only find comfort and temporary serenity from a weird, quirky SNES game...

Now I've gone through a lot..

I accidently saw my first glimpse of pornography at the age of 6..

I had a phobia of thunderstorms and lighting, but unlike most cases, I would go mental..
"I'VE GOTTA SAVE MY GAMES!*moves video games downstairs*""THERE'S A TORNADO WATCH IN OUR AREA!WE GOTTA PREPARE THE
ANIMALS!" and stuff like that..

I suffered from a pornography addiction twice, and of course when I was 13 and 14, respectively..

I was neglected by my birthmother, she would bring some guy over and ignore me, I had to eat some Reese's pieces
once to fufill my hunger..She did not take care of me too well and she is mentally ill after all..

I've seen everything on the internet(hentai, ero guro,rape,etc..) mostly because of ED(Encyclopedia Dramatica)

Now back to my nightmares..

and when it hit 2009, I did of course go through a second pornography addiction.. but after losing my computer to
a hard drive crash, I needed something to fufill it..So after 7 or 8 years of strictly Nintendo systems and hating
on Sony and Microsoft, I got a Playstation 2..Now my mom did want this one game called,Resident Evil 4..

However she couldn't play because she thought the controls were hard to use.. :|
However I played it and oddly it had two effects on me, for one it strengthened my nightmares and yet, two it
matured me in inexplicable ways(Weird, a M-rated game bringing a child stuck in a teen's body in the light and
maturing him..).

After 2 years of the constant nightmares, I wanted serenity and relief..

One day when a painter came to our house again(he was painting our piano)..and I flat out told about my nightmares
(kept it a secret for 2 years..) and my mom came up to my room and let out some holy water and the nightmares
were gone..Finally, serenity..

I'm 15 now and owner of a forum..

I am still recovering from most of the stuff, but nightmares do come occasionally, but they are not as severe..

It has been 15 years of trauma, serenity, happiness and other stuff..

I'm a kid who survived two years of nightmares..

Now I do still have phasmophobia(fear of ghosts) and I have a feeling of malaise sometimes when I
see certain horror movies..

I've gone through a lot and I'm turning out fine..

and instead of being frightened by it,I have a interest in horror...

Any disturbing experinces you've had?

Saw the movie animal farm when I was 13, and had the nights of my life. THIS is when I first got into paranormal, and was aware something I didn't know about was lurking in my house.

(Note; Animal farm = comedy. Not horror)

I went to bed and tossed and turned for hours. I would just stare into the darkness. Over time I started to make out figures in my room; Lamps, TV, Dresser, Door, ect. Now and again I would notice something, peeking into my room, and from the look of it, it was a little girl. (Not my sister. She was much older at the time)

After FORCING myself to go to sleep, I started having tingling sensations crawl up my body. Like I was floating. I couldn't snap out of my dream state, and it felt like I was getting higher up. In my dream I can see myself rising into darkness, struggling, but no reaction came into my mind in the real life. Somehow I was able to break free, and woke up, but with a loud THUD from behind me; A feeling like I have just been dropped back into place.

The next night, came one of the nightmares that still haunts me to this day. I am riding in the back seat of a taxi, down a familiar road, and what seems to be, going to my house. We then take a sudden turn and take a road that I am not familiar with. After 10 minutes or so, I start to scream and kick the door of the Taxi open, but it won't budge. I hear a loud cackling voice, followed by the strong smell of booze, coming from an EMPTY driver seat. All I remember are this two big green eyes staring at me.

Night three, was the worst night ever. This dream must have some symbolic refrance to the other nights. It started with me sitting on the couch in the living room, watching a staticy TV Station, and around the corner, walks in a man in a cow suit. He starts picking me up and swaying me around, to the bassline of "Seinfeld" playing in the background. Seeing I was clueless what to make of this, I smacked him in the face, and instantly woke up, in the doorway of my room with a shadow hovering over me.

I don't remember anything else from those three nights of hell.

That took place about 6 months ago, mind you... and there were no cows, or taxis. Just a lot of unicorns...
