Does anyone else get dizzy after driving through mountains? I have this happen every time we drive through them and lasts for a few days. It's absolutely annoying and this time is worse and I can't get the dizziness to go away.

I haven't driven through mountains in forever, but I wonder if you have some form of Hypoxia, which can be induced by high altitudes.

Acute Mountain Sickness

AMS is thought to be a progression of HAH, which usually manifests with symptoms of headache, dizziness, vomiting, anorexia, fatigue, and insomnia within 6 to 36 hours of high‐altitude exposure.11,17 According to the generally accepted Lake Louise scoring system, the presence of headache and at least one of the other symptoms, rated in severity on a scale of 1 to 3, are required.18 AMS is usually benign and self‐limiting. Symptoms are often manifested first or in greater severity the morning after the first night at higher altitude. Recurrent sleep apnea produces episodic, severe falls in SaO2 from baseline19 and reduction in sleep hypoxemia reduces AMS scores.20 AMS normally resolves within 2 to 4 days, but may be ameliorated by drug therapy (see below).

I don't think the mountains I went through were high enough but it's something to really think about. Thanks!

I too thought of altitude sickness. It's the lack of oxygen especially for those who aren't used to those levels. I haven't been to the mountains in a long time but I do remember not feeling the best. Drinking extra water helps some people I know.
Hope you feel better soon!

Whitch mountains 😛

None near me that are real deal mountains, other then when I went to wales and it's very mountains state ;P

Hi, last year I was going to the mountains and from the lack of habit at altitude I did not feel good, I was scared because I felt a lack of oxygen and very dizzy. We walked for a long time and practically did not stop, maybe my body did not have time to get used to the different altitudes. I did not go to the mountains anymore))) Only on low hills. 🙂
