Just wondering how many of you got your site listed in it. 😀

If my site's there I didn't put it there, though I put it in some other directories. Haven't heard of this one to be honest. In my opinion directories don't bring much traffic, though they're a neat idea.

I've submitted my site like a year ago and still hasn't been added.

Don't remember if they inform you of whether the site has been accepted or not.

I've submitted 2 different forums and they are still not listed. I think that directory is dead.

Well, I did see a thing where they said it could take anywhere from weeks or months to get your site accepted into the listings. Could've read that wrong but that's what I thought it said anyway.

It was a hot idea in the 90's, but really died off during the rise of social media.

It's a human managed directory. I bet there are thousands of links being submitted daily, whether genuine or bot. There is no obligation to accept your site. It could take hours or years; it's up to them really.

If Wikipedia is correct, it appears DMOZ is still functioning: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:ODP_sitecount_top.svg

On my weather network, most of my weather sites are listed on DMOZ. To do this, I had to become an editor of the category I wanted them in. But I am an active editor 🙂 I didn't just get in, submit and get out. I am trying to stay true to the benefit of having my sites listed there 🙂

Directories don't bring traffic, which i accept. But even google give importance to sites listed in DMOZ. And its not so easy to get listed in it.
You should consider submitting yours Acorn. 😀

Yeah I understand that. But do you know if one gets a notice saying they got accepted or not? Or would I have to check it out myself every once in a while?

You will not get any notification, whether its accepted or rejected.
Its like you apply and forget. You can check it periodically though.

Well I guess I could do that. But honestly, if it weren't for this thread I would have forgotten about Dmoz.
