About your websites and interests. Are you labeled as the "IT Kid", the go-to guy for help with online resources?
It's odd at my school to be completely honest. Out of the people I know, they either know that I own websites or they don't. I'm usually not labeled as the computer guy, but I do get asked for help finding things online (such as homework answers). Since i'm in an advanced computer class (which is the reason why i'm starting Bitcove, it's required) those fellow students know and even help me manage my sites.
I'm just interested in knowing, do you tell your friends about your sites or do you keep your online life online?
Everyone knows I'm "techy-ish" but I don't mention anything about my online activity. If I owned a forum with a billion posts, then I would say something, but for now, only "online" friends know.
Forums and internet were only for "rich" kids in my high school days (1998-2002). I happened to go to a school where there weren't many rich kids. SO, hardly anyone even had computer let alone a forum or website.
Nowadays pretty much everyone has a computer and the internet because everything is so affordable now.
Im usually the one asking questions on how to do stuff on my computer.
Running and maintaining websites/forums is easy. But dont ask me to change out my sound card or install some new ram or an additional hard drive or whatever. Computer might go boom.
