Yes, I think people spend more money online when the economy is bad since people can get better deals from Amazon, eBay, and Craigslist, and buy more stuff for their dollar compared to Bestbuy, JC Penny, Sears, and other big name offline stores which sometimes sell stuff for 20% more money then their online competitors.

I notice my Amazon Affiliate earnings seem to be steady even in a recession. I think people still want or need to buy stuff at a cheaper price online, and are willing to wait a few days for it to be shipped to their house rather then instantly buying it from BestBuy, JC Penny, Sears, etc which sell stuff at a higher price then Amazon, eBay, or Craigslist in most cases in my experience.

In the last few years, most of my books, computers, game consoles, electronics, and used video games were bought online, and I probably saved a few hundred dollars.

amazon might just improve later since they just release their own tablet. 😀

Indeed, the Amazon Tablet would probably bring in more visitors and potential buyers to their site since it is 199.99 , and has lots of cool features.
