Do post packages and post exchanges give you activity?

In my experience? Yes, a bit. The post packagers are by no means obligated to stay and post, same with post exchangers etc. I've paid for posts and threads before on FP, and think it does help in some ways. I respond to them and try to get the threads noticed by other members. I feel as if they are not organic activity, but do help at least make your forum LOOK active.

So what say you? Any thoughts and views on this?

For a short while sure. I've also paid real cash and FP$ for threads as well.

They do bring in some activity, though only for a brief moment unless you're doing a permanent exchange with someone.

I think threads over posts are what especially help bring in more activity. People usually find relevant threads to post to, but not everyone reads everyone's posts made in threads. Both help create more activity, in my opinion, however. After all, part of being an active forum is having content consistently flowing in.

I think consistent post exchanges can appear the most organic! I like them, and they benefit 2 people/forums and not just one. Packages in my opinion are not always that great, because it depends on who is on the team. You don't get much say in it, you can request specific people - but sometimes they aren't available, or sometimes forums don't allow such requests. If they aren't knowledgeable about the content, it might be a struggle for them also - so these just often don't feel organic... Who is going to just join a forum and make 5 topic threads and then disappear to never return? 😛

Packages help the most right at the beginning when you may need help filling the forum a bit with content that may interest users.

I believe it helps. Sometimes it bumps a thread & then regular members start talking again.

I prefer doing permanent, active exchanges. Then you know you'll keep getting activity.

I agree!

Sometimes doing a Package for a specific niche can be hard.

One thing I have noticed and I've chatted to a few forum owners they expect a bit too much when it comes to posting packages. It's a free service and you only have to post or do whatever needed to get the forum cash. I expect more from the people I pay real cash to but I don't mind what happens in a posting package as it's still threads and activity for my forum.

I feel that yeah. I was considering a consistent post exchange but it has to be with a forum I truly will like and want to do that on.

I expect nothing myself. I am not demanding on what they post or where they post. 😛 I'd expect more and better from people I pay actual IRL money too, though. I've paid FP$ for services or whatever the forum currency is. I expect nothing super major if it's just forum currency.

I appreciate the feedback for the Posting Package! We have our requirements at 2 to 3 sentences minimum but sometimes if the niche is one we are not familiar with, I end up having to ask questions more than anything. It can be a struggle posting in specific niches. If we had a wider variety of PTMs, then we'd be better off. 🙂

Exchanges to post packages boost content and also bump your Fourm from being inactive, Plus gives you new members joining and new fresh ideas. But downsized that once you complete the deal it's dead again, something that you need to keep on doing even if you have a heard time getting active members in.

There are times when the posting packages and exchanges have brought new activity to Christianity Haven, but it all depends on the subject matter being discussed. Posts themselves really don't do too much, but threads are better. Since the forum consists of older members, gaming threads get zero responses, but at a different forum maybe that's something that boosts that forum's activity? I don't really fault the packagers or exchangers because they post what they know about. That's why it's really great for the PT to have a wide range of different people.

That is exactly the issue. It's not that I am not interested in my forum, it's just some stuff at the moment has me distracted.

I do feel threads are better than replies IMO, but that usually will cost a bit extra on some post package services and all be it irl money or a forum credit system. I also am not blaming post packages or exchanges, but they do not bring consistent activity to your own forum. Maybe paying somebody to post x amount per month could work, but never did this before.

I have been using post exchange and posting packages in order to boost activities and member count on my forums for a long time.

The reality is that it is just a stop gap measure to boost traffic. It is not the real deal. Posting packages don't give you frequently active members.
