I'm asking this question because I have noticed that vegans or vegetarians forgo with eating meat. In other words, they make some sacrifices in terms of taste that they avoid eating nice foods. And what is the trade off? If they would be healthier than omnivorous like me then I guess that's fine. But would they live longer than ordinary meat eaters? Pardon me but this is not to insult vegans. I'm trying to extract a good reason for being vegan. That's all, no offense meant.

I am not quiet sure about this long lasting. But as far as I vegan people are really cool blooded.

lol idk if people are fully vegan, Rasta in my island claim to never eat meat but you often catch them

Well, it depends on how strict you are with being a vegetarian. Generally speaking, if you eat meat sparingly like you are supposed to (generally not much at all), most would be vegetarians because of it, and will be healthier and possibly increase their lifespans in the long run; due to not having issues with having a bad diet.

I'm not a vegan. That would require a complete cultural shift and a total transformation on my part. However, I have made some drastic changes to my diet that if you had asked me 20 years ago, I would have told you it was impossible. But because my husband's health problems caused him to have to change his diet, I switched right along with him for practical reasons. I didn't want to cook two separate meals.

I don't think a vegan will live longer. I think a vegan might enjoy good health longer than a meat eater. I think it. I didn't do any research to prove it. But thinking logically … nobody ever tells a vegan their cholesterol is too high because they consumed too much red meat. Also, it seems that in India where there are a lot of vegetarians, they don't have as much health problems as Americans do. Maybe I'm wrong but it looks that way, from a distance.

Yes/no. It depends on various factors. If they're getting the nutrients they need, perform exercise, etc. then they may live longer.
