I have heard this somewhere..like you need two sitemaps.Like an xml file and one HTML file.Is it true?
Do we really need them?I mean both of them?

There are two types of sitemaps, but you do not need to put both types on a single website. HTML sitemap refers to human readable which defines various pages in a website. XML sitemap is generally used for search engines to get you webpages crawled and indexed faster.

No, you just need one but some of the older search engines doesn't support xml sitemaps but who cares google has the largest audience and it support both.

I did not hear before of having two sitemaps for one site. I guess one sitemap with all info is good enough for SEO purpose.

Thanks.Now I have an xml sitemap ^^

It's not required, but it's recommended. Creating an HTML and XML sitemap for your site won't take you more than 5 minutes. XML sitemap would help Google and other search engines to understand your site's contents and HTML sitemap would help humans to understand your site's contents.

It's really not required. All you need is one XML sitemap so that search-engines can find the pages properly.
