Do any of you have home "automation" such as Iris? Automation basically allows you to do a ton of stuff, from turning on a light from your phone, to even doing more advanced things, such as setting an alarm when you walk away from your house.

I currently have the Iris system (I found a deal at Lowe's), and I must say, it's pretty great! Perhaps if any of you are interested, I can see if I can put together a video or something. 😛

Sometimes it gets a bit expensive to set up a home automation system, but it is pretty sweet 😀

I think Comcast has this system where you can open your garage, turn on your TV, turn on lights, etc. all from your smartphone. I think it's an interesting idea to do set up home automation in your home, and it's also pretty cool. I like this Comcast thing. It's pretty amazing. 😀

I'm a network security analyst, so no. Having one device control certain aspects of my home just seems ridiculous. Do I get lazy and automate server tasks? Hell yeah.

Two out of two network security analysts agree! It's such a lovely Jetson's notion but the security risks are just too great in that respect. It's too easy to manipulate systems like that for me to feel safe inside of my home with it implemented.
