Hey,

When you are choosing a host, do you consider the theme or appearance of their website?

I believe that the appearance and page loading speed definitely play a key role. 🙂

Yes theme does play a part in this, if a host does not have good theme, it will give bad impression.

I most definitely do. If the website has an old and clunky user interface, I get the impression that they don't care, and that they're probably outdated in a lot of respects. As Collin said, page loading speed is a big factor as well. If they can't even make their own simple site load quickly, what makes me think they can load mine quickly?

Speed and theme play a big part in it, yes. as stated before, if they don't care about the first thing people see when they come o their site looking for a host, they won't care about their service or clients.

Design and appearance matter on any website, especially those that are selling me something. I don't have to like the site's design, but if I can't look at it for 5 minutes without it making my eyes bleed, I'm not going to even consider buying from that site - hosts included.

I never cared about themes, I just look for loading times.

Yes, I do. Good visuals show that they actually care, in my opinion. Loading speed also plays an important role.

Unless it is something that is horrendous looking and hard to navigate, I couldn't care less what the host theme looks like since it is not my site.

I always make sure they have a pretty professional, modern theme because that leads me to believe that they care enough to stay updated with what's popular. Not only that, like someone else mentioned, I see if their site loads well. If my hosting provider's site doesn't load well, I can't imagine what mine is going to do. 😛

Yes, I do.It shows that they actually care, in my opinion. It will will also decide on how many members you end up with! 🙂

I would have to agree with "C" here. Also, a good reputation.

Well, I guess appearance is not a big deal. You are buying their hosting package and not their website so it should be all about the hosting speed and reliability. A host can have the best ever design but the slowest servers.

nope. design is not everything. I had had great luck with hosts that have crappy site designs but excellent services. meaning they care more about their customers, then making their site look good.

-- 18 Feb 2015, 04:58 --

or maybe they don't want to waste money on a design and rather put it back into their servers or it's software?
