There are a lot of platforms where you can create short videos. I have you tried creating short videos whether on Facebook and Instagram or Youtube and TikTik? What's your experience like?

Never done it, but I know a few creators who do and they put a considerable amount of work into their videos

I have done, yes. I create short-form videos both on YouTube and TikTok and as much as at the moment things are a little slow, I know that with regular posting I will see things start to take off somewhat. If you have an interest in creating short-form videos I would definitely give either YouTube Shorts or TikTok a try.

I have accounts and I have posted clips and shorts from YouTube, Instagram and also TikTok. Not often as I should be doing it but of the day I only post from clips that I end up getting. Not like I do get a high amount of great traffic.

Would be interested in any software that automatically creates short form videos from text

I have yet to make any Youtube shorts for my channel. I might see if I can whip up a short video promoting my websites since shorts can get picked up by the algorithm more than longer videos.

What are some key elements you look for in a short video?

What are some key elements you look for in a short video?

You need a great hook. People have short attention spans. The first few seconds of your video need to be engaging and attention-grabbing to encourage viewers to keep watching.

The video needs to be cohesive and straight-forward with your message. Don't make it into an essay. It needs to be engaging and guide the viewers along on a ride.

Also, you need to set clear objectives for your short video. What is the purpose of the short video going to be about? With this in mind, you can focus your efforts and create content that is tailored to achieving that objective. Can the person identify with what's on the reel?

For example, say the objective of the short video is to promote a forum about cooking. In this case, for example, the content of the video could focus on showcasing the unique features and benefits of the forum, such as access to expert advice, a community of enthusiastic members, and a platform for sharing recipes. The video could include visuals of mouth-watering dishes and a call-to-action to join the forum and become part of the community. The content should be engaging and relevant to the target audience, making it easier for them to identify with the forum and be more likely to sign up and participate.

Then this could be the script.
"Are you tired of cooking alone?" Join our community of passionate foodies and take your culinary skills to the next level! Get access to expert advice and mouth-watering recipes, and connect with other enthusiastic members. See and share delicious dishes with like-minded individuals. "Join us now and let's cook up something delicious together!"

This is straight to the point.
Here is an example that is not straight-to-the point:
Have you ever found yourself in the kitchen, feeling lonely and uninspired while preparing a meal? It's a common experience that can leave you feeling disconnected from the joy of cooking. But what if I told you that there's a way to break free from this feeling and connect with other passionate foodies just like you? Our community offers a unique opportunity to take your culinary skills to the next level, with access to expert advice, mouth-watering recipes, and a supportive network of enthusiastic members. We believe that cooking is more than just a chore - it's a way to express creativity, connect with others, and explore new flavors. So, join us now and discover the joys of cooking together!
It's not concise and straight to the point, and it takes a bit longer to get to the point. Don't make it an essay.

Also, let's say the short video features visuals of expensive and rare ingredients, exclusive cooking tools and equipment, and high-end gourmet dishes. This type of content might not be relevant or relatable to the target audience, who are likely home cooks and food enthusiasts on a budget.

Thus, it's important to create content that is tailored to the target audience and relevant to their interests and needs.

I pulled this from my notes. I was a bit too lazy to write out all my notes on my ROSS strategy .

While I've been making nonsensical videos for the most part and mostly putting them on Youtube for years, I've found I get way more views on TikTok after I started going there than what I ever did on Youtube.
