I have two forums, both are self-sustaining. I earn enough revenue to pay for posters, domain renewal, and hosting charges.

If we spend enough, yes. There are many methods to make revenue from a forum.

Nope, in fact, I earn nothing. It's a hobby if you think about it. I know that bigger forms that make money end up spending there earnings on there website/servers

I don't earn anything on my sites, but I have a full time job where I make pretty decent money. I never really thought about trying to earn cash on my sites, I do this as a hobby.

Congratulations on that. You must be doing something right. I didn't think most forum communities were a big enterprise.

I run AdSense ads on my forums. If I was not able to earn from my forums, I would have shut them down a long time ago. But I don't earn very big, though.

I'm hoping with the launch of Boost I'll be able to have my sites sustained enough to at least exist but I'm always working hard to try and earn money from my sites as even though it's fun anyway, I enjoy the hustle.

I earn enough to run them from other ventures. I am making a few hundred a month off one adsense site which is paying for the server costs.

Eventually I'll monetize the forums when (and if) they take off a little bit more.
